Beltane for the Rest of Us
Beltane is coming up. For a lot of pagans or witches, Beltane can be an uncomfortable holiday for numerous reasons:
Some people may be uncomfortable with the fertility aspect of the holiday, some may see it as heterocentric with its emphasis on a male god and female goddess union, others may see it as cisgender-focused, and others may like to celebrate the holiday but don’t like the Wiccan version of it. All valid reasons to avoid the holiday.
But you don’t have to avoid it! There are other ways to celebrate the holiday without it being sex focused!
Since it’s the opposite holiday of Samhain, a time to celebrate the dead, celebrate this holiday with life! Celebrate the living by helping your fellow human beings via charitable works.
Celebrate the life of nature around you. Plant a garden. Plant some flowers. Go outside and take a walk. Enjoy the weather!
It’s also a holiday for love - make it a love focused holiday. This can be any type of love: love for a significant other, for friends, for family, for pets, for the world, etc. Celebrate with love with however you feel comfortable.
Finally, celebrate with fire! That’s what the holiday was originally about, after all. A fire festival celebrating the Celtic god Bel. If you’re pagan, celebrate that! Or celebrate the sun gods.
Just remember the holiday isn’t just about a male god and female goddess coming together. If that is your beliefs, cool. But for the rest of us, we can celebrate the holiday in other ways
Hello! 😊 I want to first say, thank you for your information about the use of cats whiskers. My furbabies constantly leave these whispy little gifts a lot. I wonder if they're trying to tell me something sense I am quite clumsy. lol Also, I would like to say, after reading your about me section, we seem to have a lot in common. I too am a military spouse, I have lupus that has caused so many chronic medical issues, and I am a massage therapist/healer. I'm new to being a witch. New friend?=)
You’re very welcome ^_^ I’d like that! Come off anon and we can chat if you’d like :)
Hoping I can have the mental spoons to come back to this blog soon. I seriously have such little energy and so much cognitive issues that I don’t even scroll on tumblr anymore. I watch re-runs of shows I’ve seen cause I can’t even process new ones.
Currently chasing what seems to be a thyroid disorder of some sort, on top of the dozen plus diagnoses I already have. Trying to get the docs to listen to me is a bitch and a half, as usual. Have photographic evidence of my thyroid swelling like crazy (like goiter big) to show my primary, because it comes and goes. Hopefully that will move things forward.
Sad cause I haven’t had the energy to cast a circle, or do any spells for months. Just small bits of low spoon magic. But such is the spoonie life, I suppose.
Wishing you all to be as well as possible
Mabon/Fall Equinox Tarot Spread
Today is Mabon/Fall Equinox, the time where the sun and moon share the skies and light and dark take equal turns. It’s a balancing time, connecting to both the light and darkness. Can’t always ignore the darkness, without it you wouldn’t have the light.
This is my first spread I’m sharing, hope it works for you <3 *Please do not remove this info!* Also I made this using Paint… cause at work I don’t have my handy dandy Photoshop so I’ll make better ones in the future ;)
1) Light; What positive things will come from this season?
2) Dark; What things will I have to over come?
So Mabon being the time of balance, light and dark, so while it’s great to look at the good that is coming your way this season, you should also be prepared for anything coming up. Darkness isn’t a terrible thing, but it’s not to be taken with a grain of salt either. First two questions will help you see both sides and help prepare you for both.
3) Reap; What things should I be proud of from the season before?
4) Sow; What things should I work on this season to better prepare me for the future seasons?
I love the phrase ‘Any reason to have a party!’, seems so Pagan to me! So the third question will show you what to celebrate this from the past seasons. You’ve done some work, don’t discount yourself on that, you deserve to be recognized no matter how small! Question 4 is going to let you know what still needs some work. No one is perfection with a bow, so with Mabon being a harvesting time, it’s time to prep your self for things to work on some more before Winter rolls into view.
5) Message; Over all message your spirit guides/ancestors/protectors/etc have for you.
Finish up with a message from who ever guides you; we all have different names and ideologies behind who that is. Take their message to heart, because they will tell you exactly what you need to hear right now.
If you have any questions please feel free to message me! <3

The Witch Book: The Encyclopedia of Witchcraft, Wicca, and Neo-paganism
From Abracadabra to Aleister Crowley to Gardnerian Witchcraft to Rosemary's Baby to sorcery and Zoroaster, The Witch Book by the late, great Raymond Buckland is unmatched in its coverage of witchcraft's historical, practical, and cultural aspects.
A student of the late Wicca pioneer Dr. Gerald Gardner, Raymond Buckland has been widely credited with introducing Wicca to the United States. He was one of the world's foremost experts on Witchcraft, Wicca, and Earth religions.
With entries, a resource section, and photos and illustrations, this is an exhaustive exploration of Witchcraft, Wicca, paganism, magic, people, places, events, literature, and more. It shows how, in pre-Christian and early Christian times, Witchcraft (with a capital "W") was a magical and healing practice associated with early spirtual beliefs, including how the word "Witch" comes from the Old Anglo-Saxon wicce or wicca, meaning a "wise one" the wiseman or -woman of the common people who had knowledge of herbs, healing, augury, and magic.
It also tackles how Witchcraft and paganism were erroneously linked with Satanism, black magic, and pop-culture distortions. It defines both the darker Christian concept and the true concept of Wicca, concentrating on the Western European and later New World versions of Witchcraft and magic. The Witch Book is a broad and deep look at witches, witchcraft and the Wicca tradition.

Loved the Animeseries and the Manga which it was By Jason S.Loved the Animeseries and the Manga which it was based off of does not disappoint. The art work is great and the added nuances and story that was leftout of the anime really fleshes out the story. If you liked theanime give the manga series a try you will not be disappointed.0 of0 people found the following review helpful. It's a good series forthe artworkBy Mr. SeanIt's a good series for the artwork. The storyitself has some good points and a great cast of characters to use.But it hangs up a lot on the two main characters and doesn't havemuch progression in their relationship. Tid Bits at a time, readerswill read past events to help explain what occurred between them, and details about their relationship back then, but it doesn't seemto influence their present relationship very well. I found theantagonists and other characters around them were way moreinteresting and hope to see more about them.0 of 0 people found thefollowing review helpful. 5\5 stars, It's just that goodBy CPThisis one of those rare manga that's just unexplainably good. I'veread other mangas similar to this one however, this manga justseems to rise above other mangas within the same premises. A mustread for anyone just looking for something fun to read.

Ayaka is tall, strikingly gorgeous and has a regalnessto her that almost exudes a royal attitude. Despite their promixityin school, over the school year the two have never shared muchconversationuntil today. So today as class ended, Takamiya wassuddenly attacked by a cat-eared witch and her band ofbunny-costumed thugs! And if that were not enough of a shock, thisaverage joe would then be saved, like a Princess by none other thanAyaka Kagari a witch herself!

45 of 45 people found the following review helpful. Absolutelyamazing!By Michelle L. OlsonI'm a Thoth deck user. I've usedRider-Waite, of course, but I found my energy resonated better withThoth after I had done divination for a while. When I saw thisdeck, however, I felt I needed to have it, and boy was I everright. The energy of this deck is unparalleled, and the book iswritten in a witty, wonderful, and wholly insightful way. It willreawaken any practiced reader, and gently guide any new user to theways of the tarot. And the art on these cards resonatesbeautifully. I don't feel like I have to reach to grasp whatthey're trying to tell me. Maybe because it's more modern? Maybebecause they're almost wholly "positive?" Whatever the reason, Iabsolutely love this deck and would recommend it to anyone. As soonas I charge and consecrate them, I will be integrating them into mydaily practice for sure!49 of 50 people found the following reviewhelpful. witchy kitsch at its finestBy BookanandaThere is so much Ilove about this deck that I almost donrsquo;t know where tobegin.Letrsquo;s start with the kit. For years, Llewellyn hasproduced beautiful decks in flimsy boxes that donrsquo;t protectthe cards. Not anymore. This deck came in a beautiful set with asturdier box with a magnetic closure that unfolds across the front.Inside is a blue ribbon you pull to remove the book and, under it,the cards. Do I still wish the deck itself had a smaller, fittedbox like literally every other brand of tarot deck? Sure. But thebox for this set was an impressive improvement over the boxesIrsquo;ve bought from Llewellyn for years. The book itself is infull color on glossy paper. Each card is reproduced full size nextto the text about it. I love this so much! This has to be the mostbeautiful companion book for any deck I own. I only wish my olderdecks came with books like this. The writing itself is lovely.Irsquo;ve been a Deborah Blake fan for years, which is how thisdeck originally got on my radar. A lot of times when yoursquo;vebeen buying tarot decks for years you donrsquo;t bother much withthe book. This book is worth reading. Each card has a concisestatement, for the Six of Swords itrsquo;s, ldquo;Anyplace buthere.rdquo; Then on the next page it has a short meaning, ldquo;Sometimes you just have to get gone. Try not to take yourtroubles with you.rdquo; You could probably get a good enough senseof the card with just that, but she goes on to describe thecard:ldquo; This witch isnrsquo;t going to spend one more minutewhere she is. Shersquo;s already on her way, with only a fewnecessities, because time is of the essence and sometimes it isbetter to get out with nothing than to hang on to things or peoplethat are weighing you down. But shersquo;s not travelling alone. Itisnrsquo;t clear if she is helping her traveling companions or ifthey are helping her, but either way, they are in this together. Anacrcane gesture to summon the wind and theyrsquo;re off into anunknown future. All she knows is that anyplace will be better thanwhatever it is shersquo;s leaving behind.rdquo;followed by aldquo;Things to Considerrdquo; definition:ldquo;Sometimes there aresituations you simply canrsquo;t fix: unhealthy relationships, jobsthat beat you down, dangerous or unproductive circumstances. Ifyoursquo;re dealing with one of these, you have to ask yourself ifit is time to cut your losses and just get out. And there is noshame in asking for help to do so, if you need to, or maybe someoneelse needs your help to escape their own bad situation. Itrsquo;sokay to lend a hand, as long as you are sure yoursquo;re not goingto end up carrying burdens that donrsquo;t belong to you.rdquo;Idonrsquo;t know about you, but this is much more helpful than thetarot books I learned with, which ranged from big long detailedexplanations for each card that went on for twenty pages or moreeach to books which described each card in a thesaurus of randomwords in the hopes that one of them would spark something. Thisbook tells you something concrete about what each card mightactually mean to you in a reading. The cards themselves are styledafter kitschy retro witch postcards, so if thatrsquo;s not yourthing you probably wonrsquo;t care for all the pointy hats andblack cats. Witchy kitsch is one of my favorite things, so needlessto say I love the illustrations. This is a bright cheerful deck withan upbeat outlook. In the Tower, for example, the proactive witchhas burned this down on her own; shersquo;s no victim of thingsfalling apart but a player in destroying what wasnrsquo;t workingto create what she wants in its place. If therersquo;s one thing Iwish were different about the deck, itrsquo;s the cardstock. Theseare fairly thin and it took some getting used to shuffling themwithout sending them flying across the room.In short, I love thisdeck. Itrsquo;s a new favorite and I look forward to using it againand again for readings of all kinds of 38 people found thefollowing review helpful. Beautifully Done Tarot Cards!By RockyBarraganThese cards are beautifully done with so much detail andenergy in each card. I'm so excited to start using them for ClientReadings. The deck comes in a box with a magnetic closure and alsoincluded is a full color book complete with all sorts of littletips and goodies to read through. There are even pages to jot downnotes. My only worry is in the card stock used for the Tarot whichis rather lightif not very careful I can see them getting bentrather quickly. That being said I would still recommend these in aheartbeat!
Black cats, pointed hats, and magic brooms, too! Favorable Fortunesfor Curious Witches A fun, practical, easy-to-use tarot kit forevery witch. Charming images pair with simple explanations to makethis the go-to deck for anyone seeking to learn or practice thetarot. Based on the classic Rider-Waite deck but updated for thebusy modern witch, this tarot has a whimsical air while still beingdedicated to the serious job of providing answers to lifersquo;stough questions. Author Deborah Blake brings her friendly, approachable style to a tarot experience thatrsquo;s focused on thepositive. Includes a deck with brilliant art and a full-colorguidebook.
