Swagway X1 Review: Truth About The Swagway Hoverboard
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
The Swagway X1 hands-free smart hoverboard is the fastest and most customizable self-balancing electric scooter available. Own one of these and you’ll move in a way you never dreamed possible. The Swagway X1 Hands-free Smart Board was the most popular hoverboard for Christmas 2016.
Introducing the Swagway X1
The Swagway X1 is very popular as a brand and as a product. It’s been widely featured in the media on news programs, chat shows, and on many top tech review websites. But is it really as good as people say? And is it actually safe? Touted as the “next step in the evolution of transportation” let’s take a closer look at what this product is about
WHY IS THE SWAGWAY SCOOTER A BEST SELLER?
Quite simply this thing has sold so well because it’s one of the fastest hoverboards available, has a low price overall, and is a safe model that won’t explode or catch on fire.
An excellent job was done in designing the this, and they are well on their way to becoming the leader of the self-balancing scooter industry. What makes it better than other models? First, it has the highest top speed compared to any of the other types of self-balancing scooter on the market. Here’s a quick sample of other models that you can buy:
|Model||Listed Top Speed|
|Swagway X1||10 mph|
|Monorover R2||6.2 mph|
|IO Hawk||6.2 mph|
|Swagtron T1||8 mph|
As you can see, it is 25-50% faster than any of these models.
Speed is not the most important criteria to consider, but it isn’t something to ignore, either. When one of the cool things about owning a self-balancing scooter is cruising around, how fast you go matters. When you’re cruising, it is more fun to be in the fast lane, then being the person who’s slowing everyone down? Need more reasons?
WHAT ARE THE X1’S SPECS?
The Swagway Amazon stocks have a top speed of 12 MPH On a full battery it will travel more than 10 miles. It weighs 24 lbs. and can charge in 2 hrs.
WHAT’S THE WHEEL SIZE?
It has a wheel size of 6.5″, which is the same as most other models, though 8 and 10-inch wheeled versions are becoming more widespread.
DOES IT HAVE INFLATABLE TIRES?
It has solid rubber tires, no need to worry about getting a flat. I’ve already discussed the high top speed, other key specs that stand out: the great range and short charge time are very nice. Lack of a remote control and speakers is not anything to be concerned about for me. You may be different. And that it has an average review on Amazon of 4.1 with more than 360 reviews.
WHY IS THIS A BETTER BUY THAN OTHER BRANDS?
The second thing that’s great is the awesome price. When other models of hands-free smart board sell for $1800, (here’s looking at you IO Hawk), this is a steal. Even if you weren’t considering the IO Hawk, many other models are still an expensive $600-$800.
Maybe you’ve found that you can get a different brand of smart hands-free board for $200 elsewhere. Excellent deal finding skills! But… Sometimes you get what you pay for. The cheapest hoverboard/self-balancing scooters you can find are about $200.
But if you review what you are getting when you pay $200, you find yourself with a scooter that has 30% less speed, 25% less battery capacity, and a 30-day warranty. For me, the spending a little bit more cash gives me something that’s 2x better? That’s money well spent.
ARE THERE ANY DRAWBACKS?
The biggest drawback to this smart board is that they used plastic for the chassis that isn’t difficult to be scratched. This complaint may be from people who have unreasonable expectations. There’s only a 1.2 in. the gap between the bottom of the scooter and the surface it is being ridden on. Couple that low ground clearance, with a vehicle going 12 mph, and any rough terrain could hit the bottom of the scooter. While I don’t think that the bottom of your scooter will be inspected, I understand how people would not want to show wear and tear.
Another drawback mentioned, was the glue used to adhere the rubber bumpers onto the chassis was of poor quality. With several reports that the: You could use double-stick tape or even a good glue and fix this issue, solving this minor drawback.
There is now a vendor on Amazon selling replacement bumpers. They are somewhat interchangeable between the different brands, and a quick fix.
The final drawback I see is the same top speed I listed as a PRO. Several people complained that the speed of the unit is too high. There are several complaints that the speed of the unit and the riders getting into accidents or hurting themselves. There’s also the countless videos you’ve probably seen. This is why if you will be using a smart balancing board, no matter which brand, you need to be wearing adequate safety gear. This includes a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. The simple addition of this safety equipment will allow you to keep on riding a self-balancing wheeled board for a long time.
THE PROS AND CONS
What we like
The Swagway X1 comes with a 1 year standard warranty. If it proves to be defective in any way (material or workmanship) within 1 year of purchase you can get a repair or replacement. It doesn’t cover accidental damage caused by improper use, poor maintenance, accidents or road hazards. You can however purchase an additional 1 year warranty to cover this if you want an extra layer of protection for your hoverboard.
- The safety features such as UL certification for the battery and charger are a really important feature for self balancing scooters which contain lithium batteries. The Swagway also contains a high quality branded battery rather than a cheap, generic one (these can cause problems).
- It’s affordable! Most people don’t want to pay $1200+ for a scooter and if you’re buying more than one (your kids aren’t going to want to share!) you can get 3 Swagway’s for the price of a big brand name model.
- It’s pretty heavy (28lbs), which for the most part is a good thing, especially for younger users as that makes it safer to ride, and is strong and durable. Of course that also be a bad thing if you have to carry it for any distance, but that shouldn’t be too much of a problem if you purchase a carry bag for it.
- Fast and FREE shipping. The self balancing scooter is shipped from their US warehouse within 3 days of receiving cleared payment.
What we don’t like
- There’s little not to like about this product, Swagway really seem to have pulled out all the stops to create a scooter that’s probably the best on the market (for the price) at the moment. However, there is one little problem (or a major problem if you don’t live in the United States). Unfortunately, the Swagway is only available to US customers at the moment – they don’t yet ship internationally.
- Although we liked the 30 day limited return policy (which means you can change your mind and send the product back if for some weird reason you decide it’s not for you), there IS a restocking fee. And of course for obvious reasons you have to ship it back at your own expense.
- There are a range of colors, but not all are available all the time. Some colors get sold out quicker than others so you may have to wait and keep checking for stock if there’s a specific color that you really want.
Is there an age recommendation?
Swagway don’t give any age recommendation as such (well I haven’t seen one). The general recommendation I’ve seen for these scooters is that they’re for over 14’s, but I think if your kid is reasonably tall they could probably use one from around the age of 10. Obviously you have to decide for yourself whether or not you think they’ll be able to handle it and these things are quite heavy.
There’s probably no upper age as long as you’re relatively strong and fit. I’ve heard of many older people using them as personal transportation devices to help them get around longer distances. Other than that, people of all ages should be able to enjoy using these scooters.
There used to be a ton of great reviews on Amazon when the product was available there but unfortunately they no longer sell the product and listing has been deleted.
If you want to see a real Swagway X1 review there are plenty of reviews and comments on the official website. At the time of writing there are just under 500 reviews, and the average rating seems to be 5 star! In general people seem to be raving about how much fun it is, although after having a read through the reviews they’re mostly just positive comments rather than actual detailed reviews.
A few mentioned they were happy with the fast shipping, other customers mentioned the excellent customer support. Most people say they mastered them really quickly (usually takes about 20-30 mins of riding to get REALLY comfortable with them) and a lot of reviewers say they either gave or got one as a very well received gift (they’re very popular for birthdays, Christmas, graduation gifts etc.)
Swagway X1 In The Media
The Swagway is endorsed by many of the top tech websites such as PCmag, TheWireCutter and Techtimes among others. Its reputation far exceeds most other brands on the market.
Ellen DeGeneres gave one to Justin Bieber as a gift on The Ellen Show. At a later stage she also gifted one each to Sophia Grace and Rose (along with helmets of course!)
Safety When Riding
The Swagway also has a dedicated ‘learning mode’ which makes it a relatively safe model to learn on for people of all ages.
Remember, no scooter is 100% safe when riding it – every rideable comes with a certain amount of risk, and people do have accidents if they don’t use them properly. Muscle injuries, lacerations and broken bones are just some of the things that can (and do) happen. The user manual contains a number of safety warnings and recommendations on how to use the product safely. Adhere to them and you shouldn’t have any problems.
WHO SHOULD BUY ONE?
In the broadest sense, everyone who gets a Swagway will enjoy it. It depends on your motivations in getting one. Are you the type that wants to get a self-balancing scooter because it’s the newest toy around? Then this is the perfect hoverboard for you.
Maybe you’re a college student looking at self-balancing scooters for college next semester. A Swagway scooter should be the only model to consider. You can wake up ten minutes before class, throw clothes on, grab your books and zip out the door.
With its top speed of 12 mph, you can run around campus and get to class in no time. No need to wait for a parking spot or the shuttle, and after school, you can ride back home in style. Or do you want this as a gift for someone? They’ll be happy you got them one.
NOT CONVINCED ABOUT THE SWAGWAY X1 HANDS-FREE SMART BOARD?
Here’re some of the competitors and how they compare:
THE SWAGWAY VS. THE POWERBOARD
You can see my full review of the Powerboard via that link. Overall, the Powerboard and the X1 are very similar. However, when you look closely at the specs of both models, you begin to see which is the best. The Swagway is faster than the Powerboard. It also has more range.
The X1’s battery and the powerboards are the same; the Powerboard is just configured to go slower and thus has a battery that lasts longer. Read both my review of the Swagway scooter and my Powerboard review and decide for yourself. Either one is a great buy, but for me, the Swagway X1 is the best hoverboard.
THE SWAGWAY X1 VS. THE RAZOR HOVERTRAX
The Razor Hovertrax 2.0 is much better than the first generation hoverboard from Razor. But for all that it’s a much better hoverboard than the previous generation, the new Hovertrax is still pretty underwhelming.
COMPARING THE SWAGTRON T1 AND THE SWAGWAY X1
Swagway, Swagton, Swegway, they all sound the same. While there’s a difference between Segway and these brands, Swagway and Swagtron are the same company. They’ve just changed names.
As for the T1 vs. the X1, there are some significant differences. The Swagtron T1 is the newest generation of hoverboard and was released with new features that allow it to be UL-2272 certified. The X1 has the same battery pack, which is the main feature of the T1. Otherwise, the X1 and the T1 are very similar. However, the X1 is a faster hoverboard than the T1. For many people, that higher top speed in the X1 is the best reason to buy an X1.
THE MONOROVER R2 VS. THE SWAGWAY X1
The R2 and the X1 are almost identical in features. While the X1 has a listed top range of a few miles further than the R2, these are values that are created in lab environments, not the real world. Realistically, these two hoverboards will probably perform the same. You can find out more about the R2 here.
I’ve spent a lot of time researching the best hoverboard scooters over the last few months and I can safely say that this is one of the best I’ve seen. I started out with a slightly more expensive monorover r2 myself, but the Swagway X1 just pips it to the post with slightly less foot pedal sensitivity it’s easier to control (it even comes with a ‘learning mode’). It’s also cheaper than what I paid for the Monorover, although I believe they’ve dropped their price since I purchased.
The safety of a self balancing scooter is probably one of the most important features as they contain lithium batteries which can spark or overheat (causing bigger problems) if they’re not properly safety certified. This is where the Swagway wins over many other brands because it’s one of the few companies that has made safety, high quality materials, and testing their priority. They are meticulous in their design and workmanship, meaning that you get a top quality, relatively safe product and for a very reasonable price. Their customer service is very responsive too should you have any questions or want to discuss safety with them in more depth.
Now I’m not saying that these so called ‘hoverboards’ are 100% perfect just yet – they’re still new to the market and I’m sure there will be a lot of improvements made to them over the coming months. You may want to wait longer before purchasing to see what happens with the newer boards and updated safety features. However, if you don’t want to wait, the Swagway looks to me to be one of the safest, most affordable, and fun options available right now.

When you combine today’s best battery advancements and the amazing acceleration-inducing torque, hill-climbing power, and even true off-road capabilities of the latest hoverboard tech, you might just find yourself zipping down the sidewalk with a big grin on your face. Testing out the tech showcased by devices like the Swagway X1, you might not even notice (or, at least mind) that you DO still have to make contact with the ground.
In a sentence, the Swagway X1 is a two-wheeled, self-balancing, battery-powered personal transportation device in the genre commonly referred to as a “hoverboard.” These fit into a wider category of “rideables,” which includes electric skateboards and electric stand-up scooters. It resembles a skateboard, but it's ridden sideways. It only has two (much larger than a skateboard) wheels mounted perpendicular to the board; one at each end. The Swagway X1 features high-capacity rechargeable battery nested underneath the board drives two electric motors, one dedicated to each wheel. It also has bright LED lights to illuminate your path at night. You have likely seen similar items (possibly the Swagway X1 itself) demonstrated and sold at shopping mall kiosks, with a salesperson zipping around the kiosk to showcase just how fun it can be.
How Does The Swagway X1 Stay Balanced?
Riders stand atop the board and control its movement and direction by shifting their weight through their feet. Sophisticated software-driven gyroscopic mechanisms keep the Swagway X1 board balanced so the rider can just hop on and go. It takes a little practice to master, as you have to learn to trust that the board will balance you and fight the instinctual urge to do the balancing yourself. Most neophytes can learn to ride the Swagway X1 in just a few minutes, with mastery coming after just a few hours of ride time. The Swagway X1 is relatively compact and many riders with a short commute (it has a 20-mile range; depending on factors including terrain, riding style, and rider weight) find it to be a practical commuting tool that can be stowed under their desk at work.
The Swagway X1, which is built on a high-quality aluminum alloy frame, is 23 inches wide x 7.3 inches deep x 7.3 inches tall. It has a strict (for safety) weight limit of 222 pounds, including both passenger and any cargo, such as backpacks. The battery is a high-powered lithium-ion build (similar to those used in cell phones, but much bigger) and can propel a rider up to 10 miles per hour, with a range of up to 20 miles per charge. (Of course, that range is affected by rider weight, the terrain, road surface and driving style.)
The Swagway X1’s battery and charger are listed with United Labs (UL), which means they were tested as safe under normal operating conditions. This is important, as there were several incidents in 2015 where uncertified hoverboard batteries caught fire. Every Swagway hoverboard sold since 2016 has been UL listed and includes multiple layers of protection and battery shutdown features that prevent overheating and short circuits. Swagway encourages users to read and follow the detailed instruction manual included in the box for optimum operation safety.
The (include) battery charger plugs into a standard U.S. 110 volt wall outlet, but can also plug into a 240-volt outlet (commonly used for electric clothes dryers). The charger’s output is 36 volts and can charge the Swagway X1 from 0 to full charge in approximately an hour from a standard 110-volt outlet. The design features bright LED headlights for night use. There is also an LED battery charge indicator and an LED operation mode indicator. The Swagway X1 comes in paint options black, white, red, darker red, blue, green, gold, and pink.
The Swagway X1 runs about $300 on Amazon. In our comparisons below, we included hoverboards from other manufacturers with comparable prices, as well as one representing a lower price. However, be cautious to compare similar build quality, features, and reliability when evaluating hoverboards based on price.
The Swagway X1 represents one of the longest-running hoverboard models from a manufacturer who helped establish the category, then has pushed to improve its offerings each year. However, this is far from the only player in the industry. To give you a representation of offerings available from a spectrum of manufacturers, we selected three others to compare with the Swagway X1.

The Swagway X1 can be found on Amazon for about $$$.
All hoverboards take some learning time, as our instincts are to balance ourselves rather than letting some foreign object do the balancing for us. Expect a tumble or two as you get the hang of it. The Swagway X1 comes with a “learning mode” that eliminates some of its quickness to give you time to build your riding chops before going all-out.
Swagway X1’s manufacturer claims a top speed of 10 mph, with a range of up to 20 miles. However, this varies according to rider weight and riding style. Fully-grown adults using it as a commuter vehicle say 7.5 mph and 12 miles range is typical (and largely sufficient), with a full charge taking about an hour once they get to their destination.
The Swagway X1 features a sturdy metal frame, providing riders with a sense of rigid stability. This is encased in a colorful plastic housing that, while providing a flash of style, also protects walls and furniture from damage. All hoverboards tend to do some object bumping, particularly when riders are learning how to control the unit.
This product comes with a one-year manufacturer’s warranty on parts and workmanship. Does not cover damage caused by regular use (or misuse) of the item.
- Sturdy metal frame for stability; colorful plastic cover to protect walls and furniture
- UL listed battery and charger for electrical piece-of-mind
- Includes a “learning mode” to help novice riders get started
- Speed and range vary greatly based on rider weight and riding style
- Has a tendency to start moving when rider’s first, but not second, foot is put on pedal
- Actual top speed clocked at around 7.5 mph according to some users

The TOMOLOO hoverboard adds a few features that the Swagway X1 does not offer. A few of these improve on the concept, but others come across gimmicky. First, it has a higher maximum weight of 264 lbs. Remember, this includes the rider AND anything you are carrying, such as a backpack or even a heavy jacket. And maximum weight is a safety limit to protect the rider, not just the hoverboard. The TOMOLOO also allows you to wirelessly (Bluetooth) connect your phone to the board to fine-tune settings for speed, torque (how quick it starts and accelerates), and steering sensitivity. On the gimmicky (personal style?) side, features include multi-color LED headlights around the board and a Bluetooth speaker that lets you play your tunes through the board.
The TOMOLOO Hoverboard can be found on Amazon for approximately $$$
Users report that TOOMOLOO boards are the industry’s easiest to learn to ride. The smartphone app controls allow users to start slow, then easily adjust the board as their skills and needs grow.
Comparable to the actual results of the Swagway X1, the TOMOLOO tops out at 6 mph and has a range of about 12 miles. Again, this varies by rider weight and riding style. It charges from 0 to full charge in about 120 minutes.
Though some users find some design elements gimmicky, they agree on the solid frame, components, and build quality of this and all TOOMOLO products.
This product comes with a one-year manufacturer’s warranty, covering parts and build.
- Rideability and smartphone app praised for use by all levels of rider skill
- Battery and charger UL listed for electrical piece-of-mind
- Owners comment that the 24/7 customer service is great for this product
- Some parents complained the Bluetooth speaker required rules about in-house noise
- Speed and range vary greatly based on rider weight and riding style

Though comparable in size and capabilities to the other models on our list, VEEKO touts the fact that their dual 250-watt motors give this model a 9.3 mph top speed and the torque to climb a 20-degree incline. The weight limit is 221, which is in line with the Swagway X1. It is available in white, black, red, and blue.
The Veeko hoverboard can be found on Amazon for about $
Not as much fine control and no “learning mode” make this one a bit trickier to learn.
A top speed of 9.5 mph, but if you ride slower (6 mph), you can push it to 17 miles range.
Not quite as sturdy as other models on our list, but this might be a price trade-off.
- Dell computers refurbished desktops
- Swivel chair patio furniture
- Disney pair names
- 2001 toyota corolla
- Trane tam9 service facts

If anyone ordered a hover board online just a short few years ago, it would’ve been a tall order to fill. Now considered the smartest way to travel in the future, hover boards have become the latest trend in personal travel.
Swagway X1 Hands-free Smart Board is the next best thing in urban travel. It is eco-friendly and has zero-emissions. It is lightweight, self-balancing, and completely outfitted with a smart technology that balances and moves according to its rider’s motions. The Swagway is a combination of a skateboard and a motorized scooter, with moving speed capabilities of up to 10 mph.
SPECIFICATIONS AND FEATURES
The Swagway X1 Hands-Free Smart Board is the fastest and lightest hover board of its kind available to the public right now. With temperature, rider weight, and terrain all taken into consideration, the Swagway’s top speed is approximately 10 mph. With compact dimensions of 23L x 7.3W x 7.3D, the product weighs in at 26.5 pounds and can hold up an approximate maximum rider weight of 200 pounds. It is powered with a 110W Samsung/LG lithium battery, and one full charge of the board will give 20 miles of riding time.
Built with an aluminum metal alloy frame, the Swagway is made with hard ABS coating. The wheels are also aluminum and the tires are made of rubber. Designed with sleek curves and cool lights, the main body of the hover board comes in a variety of colors: black, blue, red and dark red, green, white, and a special edition pink. The machine is easy to operate with zero degree turning capacity and an ability to move at a 15-degree incline. Beginner riders can avail of a learning mode that may be turned off to switch to performance mode. The product is portable and can be lugged in a carrying bag available for purchase separately. Swagway is also certified as US made.
The best thing about the Swagway X1 Hands-Free Smart Board is its manifested functions. It is a fun tool to use and can provide hours of entertainment. When ordered online through trusted channels, delivery is typically fast and secure. The hover board also comes pre-charged straight from the box. Although it is recommended to charge before use just like any piece of technology, the machine only takes approximately an hour to be charged fully.
Once fully charged, it can last to about five hours of prime use and has even been reported to reach maximum speeds of up to 14mph. Though beginners might not be riding so fast right away, it might only take about 15 minutes to learn how to ride. It’s just really that easy to manipulate. The tires are made of solid rubber, providing good traction and no flats whatsoever. The Swagway may be used both indoors and outdoors and on a variety of flooring and terrain as well.
On the other hand, as versatile as the Swagway X1 Hands-Free Smart Board may be on the terrain it can traverse, it will never be able to go over any curbs. It has bumper guards on the front of the board, but they do not adhere very well. The bumper guards are supposed to absorb some shock and at the same time protect the board from any scratches. The Swagway’s hard plastic shell is easily scratched, so for a machine designed to move and transport, it is sure to collect blemishes pretty quickly.
There have also been discrepancies with charge duration. Some say a full charge equals to 20 miles of travel, while others report only 10 miles. The weight of the hover board is an arguable point as 26.5 lbs might not be considered light for some people. This questions the portability of the device as well.
Other discrepancies have been reported that movement maxes out at 5mph rather than 10-14mph. The hover board itself is not a quiet way to travel, and it has different colored lights that flash for different purposes. This might also prove to be an issue to some people.
To conclude, the Swagway Smart Board is a good board to buy if you are a beginner. The learning mode will help you get acquainted with the mechanics of hands-free travel. The price may be steep for just trial purposes, but buying anything cheaper will not have the same features.
Being lighter and faster than most of its competitors in the market, this board will also be good for those looking to use it as a true and primary mode of transportation in the city. There will never be worry of running out of power as urban communities have plenty of places to recharge.
In the end, it’ll ultimately pay you back your investment when it starts saving you money you would usually spend on gas, cabs, or buses.
Swagway Hoverboard is one of the top leaders in the two wheel self-balancing scooter (or as some like to call them: hoverboards) industry. They use the most durable, advanced, high-tech parts available on the market, which is why they have products such as the Swagway Hoverboard X1, one of the most popular and highest selling hoverboards on the market.
While some of the celebrities you’ve seen on TV or online using one of these new devices are usually using some that are different brands. Swagway is a brand we keep hearing about more and more often with TV and other commercial ads.
When thinking of the concept of a power skateboard, the hardest part from a user’s perspective is balance. Some of us (me included) aren’t born with the best natural balance, which makes it especially hard to go decently fast without falling and damaging myself and the board. Swagway Hoverboard understood this and innovative self-balancing technology to perfection. It’s as easy to ride as it looks: just step on it and lean forward! It knows what way your body is leaning (due to pressure sensors and other technological features) and thus knows where to apply pressure to balance the board. Just learn backwards to slow down and to the sides to turn; it’s as easy as riding a tricycle.
Pro’s and Con’s For Swagway Hoverboards
- Battery 110Wh lithium-ion battery that can last for hours of riding! The rechargeable battery also takes well less than two hours for a full charge, making it one of the most convenient batteries on a self-balancing scooter.
- Speed While many of the other similar boards around the same price go only 10 miles per hour, if not slower, the Swagway Hoverboard can go nearly 15, with top recorded speeds at 14mph, which is ridiculously fast and will truly make you feel like you are hovering. At the same time, it comes with a couple built in features to make sure you don’t go dangerously fast.
- Usage This is one of the easiest boards to learn on due to the improvement in the balancing technology. Even your first time riding — by 5 minutes you’ll feel like an expert and you’ll be able to see just how much fun they are. There is virtually no learning curve or training period.
- Talk Of The Town Everywhere you go, be it around the neighborhood, the city, or using it on college campuses, everyone will be talking about your new self-balancing scooter. They are extremely fun as it is, but being one of the few that has one, especially a top-notch one like the Swagway X1 hoverboard, it makes it that much better.
- Cleanliness One of the only things I didn’t like about the board was how easy it is to get dirty and scratch. The surface doesn’t take shoes well, and does a bad job at repelling dirt and dust. For that reason, it is recommended you go after a darker color so it won’t be as noticeable.
X1 review swagway hoverboard
Swagway X1 Hoverboard Review

Using Swagway X1 Hoverboard:
My pet peeve is getting stuck in traffic jams but with Swagway X1 Hands-free Smart Board, I do not have to endure it anymore. I can easily sway through the little space available between any two cars. Though the segway is self-balancing, it took me around an hour to ride it with perfect balance.
I like the great maneuverability it offers. The noise-free operation goes to show what a masterpiece it is. I have been using it only to go to work but the kids in my area use it to perform tricks like jumps and fakies, so it is quite versatile an object.
The universal voltage and frequency range allow me to take this scooter along abroad. But let me warn you against using it in rains. I was disappointed to learn that it is not waterproof.
The Swagway X1 Self Balancing Scooter should not be immersed in water but then it is a scooter and not a submarine and I am no diver myself! The battery port especially should remain dry. I always make sure to clean the port with a cotton swab before charging it if I have crossed a puddle on the way. It is perfect for moderately coarse roads like the ones we have in cities.
Swagway X1 Framework:
- It has an outer covering that mine has in black.
- There are two pressure sensitive footboards.
- Two Independently controlled motors.
- A light indicator.
- A battery.
- A charging port.
- Swagway X1 Hands-free Smart hoverboard has solid rubber tires. Therefore, zero worries of flats and bursts.
- The wheel grip is good for both slippery tiled roads and for those that are rough. So you can sail indoors for fun or take it outside for more productive purposes.
- Its solid outer casing is alluring in design.
- The foot pads are big enough to accommodate large feet.
- It can take sudden turns without jerks.
- The battery does not deplete easily even if you are riding at maximum speed.
- It does not cause pollution.
- Very robust in frame but delicate to look at.
- Cheaper than the other products in this category but is better in quality.
- It has a stable battery backup, which increases the reliability of this product.
- The charging point is not waterproof and can get damaged if immersed in water.
- I feel the top speed could have been more than the present 8mph.
- The scratches started appearing within hours of usage.
- It has no wireless connectivity like bluetooth.
All in all, Swagway X1 is a wonderful investment to make. I would recommend this self balancing scooter for everyone except those who cannot balance properly. Also, it is not for you if you are heavier than 250 pounds.
You can use this balancing scooter to go everywhere. It really is that convenient. Keep it fully charged but do not charge for more than two hours as that can damage the battery. So don’t hesitate and buy it now. Maybe it’s time to respond to the inner skateboarder in you!

So it was time for us to take a ride on the Swagway X1. It has some great customer reviews and it is one of the most trusted and beloved hoverboards out there today.
We had to see what all the fuzz was about so we went on and ordered one. At first glance the Swagway X1 doesn’t look much different than most of the other self-balancing devices but it really is. We’ve read some hoverboard manuals and this one comes with its own manual in good and grammatically correct English.(Something that has been a rare sight before) It has its own package and the board itself looks really neat. We got a white Swagway hoverboard for this review and it really is a cool looking scooter. It has a good speed of 10 mph but its triumph card is its distance. 20 miles on a single charge is by far the farthest we’ve gone on any self-balancing scooter.
We love testing hoverboards for the purpose of helping our visitors making a good purchase thats why you should check out this hoverboard with music here.
The device was shipped and delivered within the time frame and we received our board in 7 days. It was shipped from within the US and we didn’t find any shipping damages on the packaging.
The device itself has a good simple, yet stylish design and it is built to last. It has high quality plastic details with reinforced aluminum plates on the wheels giving it a much higher scratch resistance.
What you should consider to buy for extra protection is self-adhesive rubber to attach upon the wheel houses. Because every time you have to “abandon the ship” the device will roll over and it will cause it to scratch the upper side of the wheel houses, hence it’s a great idea to attach a stripe of rubber on each side and it will stay at mint condition for a much longer time.
So what do the Swagway x1 has to offer?
It has the best distance, much more than most of the hoverboards that we have reviewed and it have a great speed of 10 mph. It has a great high quality battery that takes about 1-2 hours to fully recharge and then you are ready to hit the streets again. This unit will never leave you stranded!
It is quite heavy, at least these days when you can find self-balancing scooters that weigh about 2-4 pounds less. It weigh approximately 26.5lbs and it can be carried around with reasonable ease. We do always recommend that you buy a carrier bag for your device since that is a much better way to keep the scooter safe and it really is an essential item to have.
The wheels are made out of solid rubber so you do not have to worry about getting a flat. I do however think that it is much more comfortable to ride a scooter with air-filled tires, but that is just a question of taste.
Over all this is a great device and it gave us hours of good fun. Another good thing is that they have adjusted the price after the market and now the price more reflects what you get. I would definitely recommend this scooter for families with children since this is a perfectly safe and reliable hoverboard for kids to ride on.
And what you get in the Swagway x1 is a reliable and fun hoverboard that will withstand the test of time and still receive great customer reviews every day. People recommend this device because it has high quality, moderate speed and a long distance for such a short recharge time. Even though its design is basic, there’s more too this hoverboard than meets the eye.
