34 californian for sale

34 californian for sale DEFAULT

This twin-diesel Californian 34 LRC was built in California to a high standard. It was a modern boat for its time with full molded hull and topsides designed for planing speed and long range cruising. This particular example is owned by an experienced boat builder employed at Christensen Yachts, a leading builder of very large yachts. He has spent substantially more than the current asking price of this boat on complete renovation of all systems on this boat. All mechanical systems were removed, the interior hull painted, the engines rebuilt, new fuel and water tanks installed and a 5.5 KW Northern lights generator added. This boat is basically an almost new boat. It is kept in covered moorage and all exterior finishes look in new condition.

The interior design provides for a large cockpit which opens through double doors into a roomy salon that combines galley and helm station. Two sleeping compartments forward (including a large head and shower) accommodate six in a stylish 34 foot hull. This boat is a very good value at a fraction of the price for an equivalent boat.

These boat details are subject to contract.
Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered.

Draft:3'2"

Beam:12'4"

Length w/ Pulpit:--

Traditionally styled and showing a distinct trawler profile, the Californian 34 is a versatile family cruiser with exceptional low-speed economy and—when equipped with the right engines—true planing-speed performance. Her solid fiberglass modified-V hull has a fine entry forward that gradually levels out into nearly flat aftersections for stability and greater speed. While most trawler-style boats were imported from Asia (Taiwan, specifically) during the 1970s and ’80s, the Californians were among the few to have been built in the U.S. Wide side decks give her a rather narrow salon, although the two staterooms below come as a surprise on such a small boat. (While a single-stateroom layout was available, the two-stateroom arrangement was more popular.) Dark mahogany woodwork is applied throughout the interior. Outside, the aft deck area is large enough for a few deck chairs, and there’s seating for a few guests on the large flybridge. Cruising speed is about 7 knots with standard 85hp Perkins diesels. Among several engine options, a pair of 210hp Cat (or 200hp Perkins) diesels cruise the Californian 34 efficiently around 16–18 knots while reaching 20+ knots wide open.

Overview

Popular sedan cruiser with trawler styling combined planing-speed performance with versatile deck layout, low-cost operation.

Features

Well-finished interior was available with single- or twin-stateroom floorplans, both with standard lower helm. Highlights include mahogany interior cabinetry, head with stall shower, wide side decks, roomy cockpit.

Comments

Two-stateroom layouts are rare in 34-footers.

Performance

Perkins 85hp diesels cruise at 7 knots; optional 210hp Cat (or 200hp Perkins) diesels cruise at 16-18 knots (20+ knots wide open).
